BCA Bachelor of Computer Application

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is a 3-year undergraduate course that imparts knowledge on the basics of computer application and software development. The course is open to the students who have completed their 12^th class/ intermediate in any stream viz. science, arts, commerce etc. A BCA degree is considered to be at par with a BTech/BE degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. The degree helps interested students in setting up a sound academic base for an advanced career in Computer Applications. BCA subjects include Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, Operating Systems, Web Technology and Computer Languages such as HTML, C, C++, Java.

BCA graduates have a wide range of job profiles to choose from. They can choose on the basis of salary or their work interest. BCA graduates have job opportunities in various fields such as web designing, banking, computer programming, Network engineer, System Administrator, Software etc. BCA graduates can also find employment in the government sector in various PSUs like all Government Banks, NSCI, LIC etc. Alternatively, the well equipped young graduates can also take up entrepreneurship on their own or join and lead their family business to the soaring heights of success. A background in computers and information technology aids in setting the stage for a successful career. BCA also sets a strong foundation for the students to pursue higher education programs like Masters or Post graduate Diploma in their area of specialisation.
